A newer build of Windows 7 which has the build number of 7068 has been leaked to the web, specifically BitTorrent (BT) network. My Digital Life Windows 7 forums have been abuzz with the latest leak of Windows 7, which marks a little closer to release candidate edition, and supposedly better build too. And great news is that both 32-bit and 64-bit (x86 and x64) builds can be downloaded.

Windows 7 Build 7068 has the complete build tag of 7068.0.090321-1322 or 7068.winmain.090321-1322, signifying it’s just been compiled on March 21, 2009. The new 7068 build has fixed the annoying bug where Notepad auto pop up with desktop.ini opened on startup as happened in Windows 7 Build 7057, and improves on gadget compatibility.

Previously, a Microsoft employee Sintak (page had been taken down) has posted the screenshot of Windows 7 Build 7068 on his blog, when explaining fixes on Windows 7 gadget function. Windows 7 Build 7068 is reportedly had been sent to selected testers on Microsoft Connect and Windows 7 TAP Customers. The build was also rumored to have been sent to OEMs to work with. Windows 7 Build 7068 appears to be not the RC to release, which scheduled release date has been pushed to May from April, with RC-Escrow coming late April. The build version of RC is been speculated to be 7100 instead.
